Happy Birthday to Us 7th June 2024 saw our 1st BIRTHDAY of supporting the residents of Swale as a registered Charity.
In our first 12 months over 180 households helped, over 350 food parcels delivered feeding over 900 people. Helping people across 21 of the Boroughs 24 districts. Distributing 4.8 tonnes of food, avoiding 1.1 tonnes of food waste. Raised an amazing £25k in grants and donations to give back to those in need within the community. Of which £23k has already been used to support those in need or allocated to the upcoming community projects. We never thought that our efforts would deliver this much and secure the foundations of some exciting new projects coming in the next few months.
I know its a late monthly update for May and we are even late to our our Birthday, but some well earnt breaks away for the team, home moves and training courses have consumed the waking hours. Its still good to share.
May has seen 36 food parcels delivered, 95 people fed and 640kg of food distributed. This included 12 new households that we have been able to support.
Not one to sit licking his wounds from Aprils Mayors Civic Award results our “Deliverwho” Trustee Trevor Williams was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Award as part of The Swale Community and Voluntary Services Awards 2024. Trevor was a little shocked and surprised when he was awarded the award as part of the Swale Community Networking Event. Well done Trevor, a true reflection of the value you bring to others. 
Much of the work this month has continued behind the scenes working hard with some other local charities on one of our key 2024 projects. We are almost at the sharing point – so bare with us. We look forward to our big event and sharing our thanks for all those who have made this possible.
We successfully had our Swale Environmental Health Inspection of our Foodbank, achieving 5* rating. 
Well done to the efforts of the team to provide a clean, safe and documented setup. It was great to get some feedback on our other projects also, so thankyou to the inspector for helping us with our planning.

and Golf Day 
. Both were great fun with the weather being incredibly kind on both days 
. We had a lot of fun running a charity stall, raffles and enjoying the sport with those that attended. Thankyou to the organisers, players, local businesses and those that came to watch. We thoroughly enjoyed.
